Caving In

William arrived at he gate to sedgars place. He wanted nothing but a temporary arm.

Giving his usual greeting at a control panel on the lobby floor, Sedgar was busy working on the heating systems of his new lab. The doors opened, and Sedgar greeted him with a good tilt of his glasses.

"How can I help you today~"

"I need a temporary arm, Just untill this one guy returns" he said.

"Mm, very well.."

Sedgar noticed the bandaged stub on his shoulder, gathering that what he was after was mechanical. He began to walk forward to William.

"I'll need you to remove those bandages then..."

William removed the decorative orange metal armour and revealed to sedgar what was technology he had never seen before. It was very different but very easy to understand. Easy enough for anyone to copy. It was the material's and the old energy channeling system that was the hard part.

Investigating the stub thoroughly, Sdgar donned his energy monocle to see better how the flow of energy worked in what was left of his arm. The wires and bits of dislocated metal were pretty badly beaten up, but... he should be able to form an adaptation. He tapped his foot on a floor panel as a scanner came down from the ceiling.

"Hold still for a second...

Two screens were placed on either side of William, and they began scanning a holographic image of the inner workings of what was left of his arm.

William stood there and review the technology. It seemed to be around the same style of stuff used in the time he came from (2222). It was all fascinating stuff to him.

As the holographic scanner finished, it rose back into the ceiling and a perfect image of his stump appeared on the main worktable, semi-transparent to outline every detail of the arm.

"There, I should have a working replacement soon.. It may take a few hours (posts), so you're free to do what you wish until then, and I'll inform you when the arm's finished.

William pulled out a machine rifle and aimed it at the wall ahead of him "BANG" he said playing around.

He really wasn't stupid enough to fire such a powerful weapon in such a small area, but instead thought it might kick up a laugh or two.

Sedgar flinched terribly, pressing a button that brought down several heavy-duty pieces or weaponry from the ceiling all aimed at William. Though when he learned it was a joke, he half-heartedly laughed, glasses half-off of his face, the weapons slowly going back to their places.

"Hehe.. Um, sorry... instinct y'know...~"

"I know what that's like" William said referring back to training.

"These things are just like what the Federal Forces used. you ever heard of Earth" he questioned

Standing up and heading to the hologram to begin investigations, he looked up at William.

"through meeting with the various people we have here, I've found we all have our different interpretations of what Earth is.. Yours could be completely different from someone else's understanding of Earth."

He gave a slight smile with his eyes, being cheerful as always. (( Like a ^^ face))

"Earth where I came from is plagued by war and ruled by a corrupt government." he said.

((Haha how true))

"Sounds rough..."

He typed a few more things into the holographic display as more canisters of raw material showed up on either side. In it were various chunks of raw metal, all varying in their elemental makeup and engineering enhancements. The computer systematically began to pick each one up and identify it, trying to match up with the bits of metal identified from William's stump.

"The Earh I know is only a small section.. a small place ruled by a monarchy too filled with its own pride to make much sense out of anything else."

"Sounds better than where I came from" he said.

"Every soldier is the military has their dna altered to make them fighting machines. Thier memories are wiped and replaced with fake ones. and the Woman are forced to do the duties of the Elite few who command and run the upper sectors." he said.

"A world where technology has gotten the better of the minds of the government... A pity..."

All the chunks of metal that the machine inspected simply couldn't match with whatever alloy his arm was made of, and left Sedgar baffled. These were all the forms of metal collected from various weapons and sources both on Vescrutia and Escellsia, it was amazing that Sedgar couldn't get a match. Shaking his head he got up and walked towards William.

"If you will.."

He would take a hanging piece of metal from his stump left from the injury, loose enough so that it wouldn't do any significant damage, and just enough to scan. The cmputer took the sample and analyzd it fully, taking back the many alloys it knew and began to forge a new one out of the various known elements of the universe, in order to create a supply of this new one.

"My kingdom was far too concerned with Chakra abilities to focus on anything technologic.. living in the old world compared to elsewhere. And I was supposed to be their next King. Hah!"

"I once travelled to a planet where I became King. It's not all that fun" he said.

"I imagine not.."

As the cart of raw metal came back up with a freshly forged new alloy, the computer scanned and tested for compatibility with the stump's parts, giving it a full 100%. Sedgar smiled and scrolled through a variety of designs to give this "temporary" arm. Finally choosing one that he felt would be perfect for the guy, he selected it and hit a green button, leaning back in his chair to let the automatic forgery underground handle the rest.

"My father had a white head of hair by the time he was 50. Doesn't seem like a fun job to have."

"It must have stressed him to all ends" William said.

"Ah, the wars he suffered... Funny how the most 'noble' of families seem to have to most bloody of feuds..."

The sounds of heavy machinery could be heard from under the lobby floor, as the machinery was busy forging and perfecting every intricate detail of the arm, finely crafting the wires, valves and every metal tendon to fit perfectly in place. It cooled rapidly too, with the aid of an ice-chakra based cooling system, yet was still only halfway done constructing it.

"No, I'm glad I stayed out of that mess.. Wonder how brother dearest ever made it.."

"well at least you remember that you have a family. I sure dont" he said.

"I barely remember where my lunch is half the time, they pumped my so full of muscle enhancements it could make a normal guy like you explode." he said,

"Ah, no, I'd not like that at all..."

With an oven's *ding,* the finely forged arm came back up from the floor and onto the worktable. It was split in half the long way down so that Sedgar could tinker with it by hand, adding a spiritual signature onto it and arranging fine details of its structure just so. He donned the monocle again so he could see the workings of his signature writing tool, and began to expertly carve out intricate symbols that only elderly scribes could easily decipher... The coding was his programming language, as all his weapons did run on some sort of soul force...

"I tried being a fighter once. Didn't end too well... I spent maybe a day in the Covenant before going back to my inventions~"

"What's this? A workshop? In the middle of the mountains?"

*Lin was working on her teleportation skills. It wasn't going well....she had found strange new places, this bring one of them. The most recently used teleport it seemed. Most recently used indeed, for the blonde girl saw large footsteps leading to a building. Following them, she was lead to a steel door, quite study and unlabeled. Linnea didn't bother to look up to see the large sign above her. Her tiny hand opened the door and she once again followed a trail, this time not of footsteps in the snow but of wet and melting snow from the ground outside. Finally she arrived to a brighter room than the entrance and belted out a joyful and friendly...*

"HELLO?! IS ANYONE HERE?! Where is this place, it's such a dump...there are parts scattered everywhere."

*a small finger poked a gear on the wall and gave a glare*

"What type of decorating is this anyway...."

Sedgar struggled to regain concentration, but his energy-tracing tool had gone askew and he implanted a horribly messed up line in the arm. Scowling, he turned to the girl who had intruded into the lobby, somehow bypassing his security cameras.

"This is a workshop, miss, and I'm trying to concentrate! Please, have a seat and I'll get to you when I'm finished with this client!"

He pulled out a similar-looking tool, erasing the messed up signature, and began to start that section of the pattern all over again.... What wasted effort..
